Hey Guys!!
Today I'm going to post a quick review of The Recruit. If you haven't heard of this series, I seriously reccomend you check it out as it is kick-ass, fast and so easy to get into you will have read about 3 of them per week. (I've kind of read six of them...whoops)
Synopsis:
The recruit follows protagonist James Adams and his sister Lauren. James comes home from school one day and finds out that his mother has died and both him and his sister have to go to a foster home. Little do they know they are being carefully monitored by one of the other kids there who works for a secret undercover branch for M15: Cherub. Cherub is and organisation that recruits kids as their agents, they train them to go undercover into real life crimes and missions in everyday life.
James and Lauren are both sent to the Cherub Campus, where James is told about this and agrees to become an agent for Cherub: if he passes recruitment training. The book mainly follows James and a bunch of other kids his age fighting through a gruelling 100 day training course, which tests James how strong he is physically, but emotionally as well.
Review:
This book was so enjoyable, I fell in love with the characters and the whole premise of Cherub itself very quickly. I love the fact that each book in the series focuses around one main "mission" it really pinpoints the story. There is so much action and thrills throughout the different books, and the missions get even more crazy, dangerous and thrilling throughout the series. The Recruit is an awesome start to an explosive (literally) series and it grabs you instantly and gets better with each page you read.
I hope that pick up this book soon, I feel as if it is not talked about enough!
Always comment me books that you love, I love being recommended things to read, and tell me what I should post next! I am always open to opinions!
Hope you are having a great day,

Currently Reading - Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Hey Guys!
So my current read at the moment is the incredible Outlander. It got recommended to me by the amazing Sasha at abookutopia on youtube (check out her videos here : https://www.youtube.com/user/abookutopia ) and oh my god I have fallen completely in love.
The story follows protagonist Clare Randall, a ex army nurse who is going on her second honeymoon to the Scottish highlands with her husband Frank, at the end of world war two. She is walking around the Scottish Highlands and suddenly comes across a circle of small stones. Little does she know, as soon as she places her hand on one she gets transported back to 1743 and enters a world she never knew was possible to enter as a Sassenach, an outlander, in a country torn by war and clan feuds. She takes up residence in a local castle and meets young Scot warrior Jaime Fraser. But she starts falling for him, and she becomes torn between two different men in two completely different times.
Diana Gabladon's writing is so beautiful, she describes places and people so well and the character development in this book is so amazing! The story is face pasted and upbeat, and turns different corners and routes each chapter you read. I love Jaime as a character, he is fearless and courageous on the outside but on the inside he is very caring and very loving towards other people.
If you haven't heard of this book yet I highly suggest you pick it up, it is quite long however and part of a very long series, so if that doesn't sound appealing to you it has been developed into a highly reviewed TV show (called Outlander) which is available on DVD and Amazon Prime, I have watched a few episodes and its so addictive and really hooks you into the story!
I hope this short synopsis pulls you in and I really hope you check this book out!

The Maze Runner: Review
Hey guys!
Today i'm going to review the "Maze Runner" by James Dashner. There has been a lot of mixed reviews on this series as the style of writing is quite unique and sometimes hard to get into, but I for one LOVED these books so much! The plotline was gripping the whole way through, and the story always felt like it was going somewhere. I really enjoyed all 3 books (as well as the prequel novel "The Death Cure") but I do happen to have a favourite, which was The Scorch Trials. I thought this one had the most interesting and enjoyable concept, it was so fast paced and super action packed.
*SPOLIERS*
Backround:
The background of the book itself is set in a dystopian future where the world has been almost completely destroyed by powerful sun rays. On top of that, a lethal virus named the "Flare" has accidentally escaped into society and has a complete wipeout effect: there is no none cure and the consequences of the virus are unexplainably painful, both mentally and physically. In response to these events, A large group of scientists which are named "WICKED" (World In Catastrophe, Killzone Experiment Department) are set up. Their main aim is to find a cure for the virus, by experimenting on teenagers/young people who happen to be immune to the Flare, before the virus wipes out the whole population.
The books follow a group of the WICKED test subjects.
My Thoughts:
The first book, The Maze Runner, is probably the slowest out of the whole series, which I can understand. The first book in a series has to be set up and explained that little bit more, so you can understand where the rest of the books are heading. You are introduced to the Maze, which is one of the experiments, where about 50 or so boys or (or "Gladers" as they have called themselves) have been placed by WICKED. They have all had their memories wiped, and basically have to find a way out of the maze.
I really enjoyed this book, just because of the mind blowing concept.
I loved the characters as well, my favourite being Newt. I felt he had one of the strongest personalities in the beginning, and through the books you can really see how it shines (and deteriorates). I also love Minho, and Thomas. In fact all the characters were all so well developed, even when the Gladers do not have any memories. I loved the way that the Gladers had made such a tight community in such an awful situation, and all had different roles which they had set up. I really enjoyed the scenes with the Grievers, some of them being the best in the book. And right when I least expected it, a girl shows up! I loved the introduction of Teresa into the Glade, I was a bit wary at the beginning as there seemed to be no girls around, but when Teresa did come up in the elevator, I wasn't expecting it, and it was a great, clever plot twist.
Overall, this series is kick ass and awesome. It made me laugh, cry, and throw it against the wall. It is very fast paced and I would recommend it to anyone, as it is an easy read.
Comment below your thoughts on this series, and what you have read recently, I would love to know your opinions!
